1. Overview

This policy explains what personal data StoreAdept collects when you visit storeadept.com, browse one of our demo stores, submit our contact form, or buy a package or Care plan, and how we use it. "We" and "StoreAdept" refer to the operator of this site; "you" refers to a visitor or customer.

2. Information we collect

• Contact form. Name, email address, business type, launch timeline, and any message you send us.
• Purchases. When you buy a package, Stripe collects your billing name, address, tax ID (if provided), and payment details on its own checkout page. We receive your email address, the amount paid, and billing details needed to issue an invoice — we never see or store your card number.
• Demo stores and AI features. Our demo stores (including the Agentic / AI shopping agent demo) are real, working storefronts. If you use search, add items to a cart, or chat with a shopping or merchant agent on a demo, that activity — including anything you type to the agent — may be logged to operate and improve the feature.
• Usage data. Standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, device, and pages visited, collected automatically as you browse.
• Cookies. Used for essential site functions and, where you've consented, for analytics. See Section 5.

3. How we use this information

• To respond to enquiries and follow up on a purchase or lead within one business day.
• To process payments, issue invoices, and provide Care plan services.
• To operate the AI shopping and merchant agent features, including sending relevant parts of your message and store/product data to our AI provider to generate a response.
• To maintain and secure our site and demo stores, and to understand how they're used so we can improve them.
• To send you service-related email (for example, order confirmations). We don't add contact-form or purchase data to a marketing mailing list.

4. Who we share it with

We share data with the third parties needed to run the service above, and don't sell personal data:

• Stripe — payment processing and billing detail collection.
• Our invoicing provider — to issue invoices for completed purchases.
• Email/SMTP provider — to deliver enquiry notifications and transactional email.
• AI model providers — to power the Pro/Growth shopping and merchant agent features, on demo stores and on stores we build for Pro/Growth customers.
• Hosting providers — ours, for this site and our demo stores; yours, for any store we build for you (we don't control what you or your host do with data on your own store).

5. Cookies

This site and our demo stores use essential cookies to function (for example, keeping your cart contents and remembering cookie preferences you set). Demo stores show a cookie-preference prompt where you can accept, decline, or customize non-essential cookies such as analytics.

6. Data retention

We keep contact-form enquiries and purchase records for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above and to meet accounting and tax obligations (typically several years for invoicing records). Demo-store activity, including agent conversation logs, is retained only as long as needed to operate and improve the feature.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these, email [email protected] and we'll respond within a reasonable time. If you're in the EU/EEA or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the data we hold, including relying on providers like Stripe for payment security so that card details never pass through our own systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's privacy

StoreAdept's site and services are intended for business owners and are not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children.

10. International transfers

We and the providers listed in Section 4 may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the current version here with its last-updated date; material changes will be reflected by that date.
